Beautiful Bowen Tour (min 2 people)
Come and visit Beautiful Bowen and see what this delightful seaside town has to offer.
Considered the northern gateway to the Whitsundays, Bowen is a two-hour drive north through sugar cane and beautiful granite-licked hilltops.
Along the way learn about the Mackay Sugar cane Industry, Calen, the birth of the Coal mining boom, the historic heritage-listed Pini Pini Brickworks, and the spectacular Goorganga Plains, before arriving in Proserpine.
Here we stop for tea or coffee at Whitsunday Gold Coffee Plantation where you get to see the exotic bird collection. After that, we continue up the road to Bowen.
Arriving in Bowen, our first stop is at the famous Bowen Big Mango for some delicious Mango Sorbet.
We then visit Queens Beach and Horseshoe Bay where you can walk up to the lookout overlooking its spectacular coastline. Then we stop at Greys Bay, which is the perfect spot for a swim. After that, we go to Rose Bay and Flagstaff Hill, then it's off to the harbor for Bowen's famous fish and chips at the legendary Birds Fish bar and finally the historic Foreshore and Bowen Pier ( where the Nicole Kidman movie Australia was filmed), before heading back to Mackay.
